Celtic Back In Europe....

Yesterday the Swiss court ruled against Sion  after were kicked out of the competition after Celtic complained about the club fielding players signed while they were subject to a transfer ban.

A statement from the Valais court said: "According to applicable law, the dispute does not have sufficiently close links with the canton of Valais to have a basis of jurisdiction with the local judicial authorities Valais. The measures sought by the applicant were exclusively against UEFA, who have headquarters in Nyon."

So Celtic now have their place in the Europa League group stages and have travelled to Madrid to play Atletico on Thursday night.

Sion now have the right to appeal the decision but it looks to be over for them, How would Uefa handle it if they were to be reinstated considering group games will take place later?

Good luck to Celtic tonight as they are Scotlands only representatives.

Scotland Suffer Again

Scotland faced the Czech Republic yesterday at hampden which resulted in a 2-2 draw that almost kill Scotland's chances of qualifying for Euro 2012.

The Scots took the lead with Kenny Miller but were pinned back with about 10minutes to go with a goal that might have been seen as lucky. Not to worry, Up pops Darren Fletcher to seeminly win the game for Scotland.

The game wasnt finished there though, Subsitute Danny Wilson was judged to have brought down a Czech player, Penalty says the referee. The penalty was convereted and the game looked to be heading for a draw.

There was still time for one more chance, Berra charging forward for Scotland looked to have been tripped but the referee waved it away and instead booked him for diving.

In my opinion the ref made 2 bad calls towards the end of the game but nothing can be done about it now.
