So the allegations that Brazilian goalscorer Neymar made after the Brazil v Scotland friendly on Sunday have now been cooled after a German tourist confirmed he threw the banana onto the pitch.
An Arsenal statement said, "After consultation with the Metropolitan Police, Arsenal Football Club can confirm that a German teenage tourist has admitted throwing a banana on to the pitch during the Brazil v Scotland international friendly at Emirates Stadium on Sunday."
The Metropolitan Police have also said they are satisfied that it was not intended to appear as a racist remark and have decided to take no further action.
So that leaves the Scotland fans in the clear and I guess they will be looking for an apology after being accused of such actions.
